I am a Tucson, AZ based artist and creator. My artwork is crafted to be personal and meaningful. An ever-recovering perfectionist, I draw inspiration from the style of traditional portraiture and figure drawing, while embracing the mess of the creative process with an undone element.
CUSTOM PORTRAITURE
The way that the human spirit can shine through when captured through the work of human hands is something that modern photography, for all of its beauties, cannot emulate.
I love to utilize the techniques and styles of traditional portraiture, and stop right before it would be “finished”. The steps of the artistic process that lead to the perfected product have always interested me far more than the finished product itself.
I just choose to leave my artwork in that
perfectly undone state.
I have always been mesmerized by portraits. The process of capturing the likeness of a human is like a dance: the slightest move wrong, and the flow is disrupted. But when all the pieces work together, you are transported.
FIGURATIVE ARTWORK
are two things that entrance me. I find the human form to be such a beautiful way to explore these principles; using light and contrast to bring dimension, and movement to bring energy. Artwork featuring the human form is timeless for a reason. I use a variety of mediums to explore this subject matter.
